OUR STORY

Wearable art, made by hand

Westwired creates handcrafted crowns and headpieces that sit between fantasy couture, alternative bridal and one-of-a-kind wearable art.

Each piece is formed slowly from twisted wire, crystal, glass, pearls and carefully chosen materials — with the hand of the maker always visible in the finished piece.

Westwired was founded by Richard Westbrook from a fascination with fantasy, historic ornament and the imperfect beauty of natural forms. Rather than creating a crown as an accessory, each design begins as a small piece of world-building — something intended to suggest a place, a character or a story of its own.

Every piece is constructed by hand. Wire is twisted and shaped individually, beads and crystals are placed one by one, and the final silhouette develops through the process of making. Small variations are part of that process, giving each crown the character of an object made by a person rather than repeated by a machine.

THE STORY BEHIND WESTWIRED

Made slowly, with intention

“I wanted to make pieces that feel as though they belong to a story — objects with the romance of folklore and the individuality of something made by hand.”

INFLUENCES

Drawn from older worlds

Westwired is shaped by a mixture of fantasy, decorative history and the natural world — not to recreate a particular period, but to make pieces that feel as though they might belong to a story beyond the everyday.

01

Fantasy & folklore

Mythic landscapes, forgotten courts and the feeling of stepping into another world.

02

Arts & Crafts

Respect for handwork, material character and the beauty of things made slowly.

03

Art Nouveau

Flowing lines, botanical ornament and structures that feel grown rather than engineered.

04

Natural forms

Branches, leaves, water, stone and light — translated into wire, glass and crystal.

THE MAKING

From sketch to crown

Every Westwired piece begins with an idea on paper, developing through hand-twisted wire forms and individually made components. Beads, crystals and small elements are shaped and prepared one by one, then carefully assembled bead by bead into a finished crown.

The drawings, trials and prepared elements reveal the slow handcraft behind each piece. No two crowns are exactly identical — each one carries the small variations that come from being made by hand.

MADE TO BE WORN

For stories beyond the everyday

Westwired pieces are created to become part of a larger story — whether that is an unconventional wedding, a fantasy portrait, an editorial image or simply an occasion that calls for something extraordinary.

The collection offers finished designs with distinct worlds of their own, while bespoke commissions begin with yours.
